Taegeuk-sam-jang is a step up from the first two taekwondo forms.
It includes double punches, back stance and knife hand techniques.
As always...
If you take it slowly. And pay attention to detail. You'll reap the rewards as your taekwondo develops.
OK let's go with taegeuk-sam-jang.
  • Swivel 90' to your left. This brings you into walking stance- left foot in front. As you turn do a left arm low block.
  • Do a front kick with your right leg and land in front stance with your right foot in front. As you land complete a right then left double middle punch.
  • Step with your right foot and turn 180' to your right. This brings you into walking stance with your right foot forward. Do a right arm low block.
  • Do a front kick with your left leg and land in front stance with your left foot in front. As you land complete a left then right double middle punch.
  • Step 90' to the left with your left foot into walking stance. Do a right inner knife-hand strike to the neck.
  • Step forwards with your right foot into walking stance. Do a left inner knifehand strike to the neck.
  • Here's the cool bit of taegeuk-sam-jang. Step your to the left with your left foot and turn 90' to your left. You should end up in back stance with your left foot in front. As you turn do a left single knifehand.
  • Change to front stance and do a right hand middle punch.
  • Turn 180' to your right so you end up in back stance with your right foot forwards. Do a right single knifehand as you turn.
  • Change to front stance and do a left hand middle punch.
  • Step to the left with your left foot. Turn through 90' to end up in walking stance with your left foot forwards. Do a right arm inner middle block.
  • Step forwards in walking stance and do a left arm inner middle block.
  • Step with your left foot and turn 270' to your left to end in walking stance with your left foot in front. Do a left arm low block.
  • Do a front kick with your right leg and land in front stance with your right foot in front. As you land complete a right then left double middle punch.
  • Turn 180' to your right so you end up in walking stance with your right foot forwards. Do a right low block as you turn.
  • Do a front kick with your left leg and land in front stance with your left foot in front. As you land complete a left then right double middle punch.
  • Step your to the left with your left foot and turn 90' to your left. You should be in walking stance with your left foot in front. Do a left arm low block as you turn.
  • Keep you feet where they are and do a right arm middle punch.
  • Step forwards in walking stance and do a right arm low block.
  • Keep you feet where they are and do a left arm middle punch.
  • Do a left front kick to land in walking stance with the left leg in front. Do a left low block.
  • Keep you feet where they are and do a right arm middle punch.
  • Do a right front kick to land in walking stance with the right leg in front. Do a right low block.
  • Keep you feet where they are and do a left arm middle punch. Ki-hup
